Default temperature sensing dipstick

Harley makes a temperature sensing dipstick for the evo and I'm wondering how well it works? Any of you use one on your bike?

Yeah I got one. Long one for an 85 WG. I'm on my four or fifth one.

Spenda little extra $$$ and then they will not rust out on you, glass won't crack so easily, will survive a drunken stupor drop, and will give you a glimpse of what the oil is cooking at.

But... you can easily save the money as I've neverhad any questions if my engine wastoo hot even in the southern CA desert, pushing 80mph, loaded down, while running 60 weight Castrol.

Regards,
-P

I don't have the digital one, got the regular one. Works good. It is nice to see what the temps are, especially in the summer.

No problems with mine over the last 18 or so months.

I have the analog version. Been on the bike for 17 years. Still working.

I bought the digital one last July. Not working after sitting in storage over winter. Has moisture under the glass sight.

I've got the analog one, cost about $10, works fine. My son went big time, got the digital with a light in it, cost about $100. Both work as advertised.

The oil temp. dipstick was one of the first things I bought back in 1991for my new FXRS. Only problem is, the dipstick resides under the seat, so you can't just glance at it as you're blasting down the road. Well, I suppose you could stand up on the pegs and flip the seat up...

I have the analog version and find it reliable and helpful in any riding season. A lot of valuable information for very little money.

Do they have an analog version for a evo touring bike? I've only found the digital version.
