Dielectric grease

Default Dielectric grease
Hello all, I am working on my 1998 flhtcu and the fuses are very hard to remove, pretty sure that they are original. I've used dielectric grease on all of the bulbs and wiring harnesses of this bike, and don't think there would be an issue, but is it ok to use dielectric grease on the fuses?

I thought so too, but better to ask than assume. I've done tons of work to this bike and am just giving everything the final "once over" before the new battery gets here tomorrow.

Yup, use it on every electrical connection. I particularly put it on the master fuse.

But...dielectric grease is non conductive and works on sliding contact surfaces. You shouldn't use it on the battery connections. There is stuff specifically for the battery connections that you put on after it is snugged up.

I use wheel bearing grease on my battery terminals.

I use this on battery terminals:

I use Vaseline petroleum jelly on battery terminals and the like. I have a pot my father used going back into the '60s if not earlier!

I have a pot of the German brand I use on battery terminals. It's called Weinerschlider.
Everything else gets dielectric grease.
