This has two carbs right? Sitting for long periods of time? Fouled plug? I would run some carb cleaning additive through a few tanks before I started wrenching, just sounds like your idle pin is stuck in the open position.

2 carbs? No. I'm trying to think of a Harley that had two carbs and I'm coming up empty. Maybe somebody can remember an arcane model that did. And what's an idle pin? I've rebuilt carbs, and I've never seen such a thing.

This is gibberish.

Ride it for a 1000 miles and check your oil useage, if it's using more than 1/2 quart
you could try switching to straight 50 weight, like we ran in the old bikes.
The valve seats won't cause oil usage, worn valve seats will show a loss of compression. Worn valve guides will allow oil to seap or be sucked in around the valve stems, that's where the thicker oil will help.

Sorry you don't approve. Been a while since I worked on a carb, don't remember exactly what it's called. Either way, sounds like fuel to me. Oil makes white smoke last time I checked. I guess since your answer did not address the problem it was also gibberish. Btw, I asked if it had two carbs.....that is what the little question mark means.
