Default Parts list "evo" rebuild

So I'm getting ready early for my bikes 30th birthday party,(winter).Getting a parts list together so I have an idea on cost, ordering what I can from J&P CYCLE to utilize my gold member savings. I have some **** picked out, looking for recommended items, pros and cons,as this will be popping my cherry. My first V8 went great and I want the same outcome with this rebuild.
This is all I wrote down so far.....
Ev27 Andrew
Hastings rings
Ss quick push rods
Jim s wrist pin
That's it so far,wanted Jim's tappet but $100 each ????

What do you have now?
Stock motor, stage 1???
I hope you added a top end gasket set with your wish list.
Why the wrist pins and the adjustable pushrods?

If you're going to have the top end apart anyway...

Pins are cheap enough, don't want to leave any worn parts behind. Figured I would replace the push rods with adjustable incase I need to get in the bottom end in the future. I would hate to have to cut new stock rods in future.

OEM lifters work fine with an EV-27 (although I have never heard a bad thing about S&S lifters...), so do solid pushrods (that`s my setup).

OEM wrist pins if they are cheaper.

While the cylinders are off, have the machinist true the bottoms, it will go a long way toward eliminating any future base gasket leaks.

That is a mighty expensive guess.
FWIW stock pushrods are way cheaper than the adjustable ones.
You are better off taking the top end off again IMO.

Oh No!! Mr. Bill!

Some make it sound like adjustable pushrods are going to come loose and hit you in the head like a bullet.

The S&S quickies will do just fine.

My vote is for a James Gasket set. Cometic is a distant second imho. You will get Nobody to agree with that but it has just been my experience with them. Better than moco for sure.

After using both I can tell you that there isn't much difference between them.

Was told the motor is untouched when purchased. All comments are being noted/weighed and appreciated, now certain gaskets should be metal ??? Base ? Head should be stock thickness ? I don't want to increase compression to the point of having to change everything else around. Plus it's enough to kick as it is.
