Plugging the mid-shift hole in the inner primary?

Default Plugging the mid-shift hole in the inner primary?
Gonna install forward controls on my 85 Low rider and then ride it a bit to see how I like 'em.

What's the best way to plug the mid-shift shaft hole in the inner primary?

Not sure if it is the best way but mine has a bolt and washer through it bedded in black RTV. Was that way when I got it and still is, doesn't leak.

Read about this previously. Freeze plug of the right size is what you want. If I ever take my primary off again that's what's going on mine

Ooooo! I like that idea!

Are we talking one of those rubber expansion plugs or the plain old steel frost plug?

I do have a NOS Wide Glide inner primary, but I don't want to put it on until I've decided on how I'm going to finish the primary case.

Drive in. I think it's 13/16" but check that before you do it.

I always check a hole for proper fit before I plug it.

Default Plugging the mid-shift hole in the inner primary?
Here you go. Did it last night it's a 13/16" cup style freeze plug. Dorman part number 555-013. Might call around first it wasn't easy to find and without the part number the parts counter guys might not have ever seen one. Should only need one.
