Default Electrical?

got a 96 dyna convertible...replaced the stator and regulator 6 months ago. Yesterday noticed the tac was out, then turn signals wouldn't work, stopped for gas and shut it off...wouldnt restart. Jumped it and rode it hard home (avoid tow bill)...Noticed tac was still acting funny...wife who was following said tail lights were going off and on like it had a short...got it home dead again... anyone have this happen and what was the problem?

Go through the sticky. Tach acting funny can mean blown diodes in the regulator, but go through the sticky for a proper diagnosis.

Did you use a HD regulator? Or aftermarket?

If you didn't go with cycle electric you might be changing everything out again.

As for the sticky (it is at the top of the EVO page) the doc is talking about this

Could also be a bad ground somewhere between the handlebars and battery.
