I need help
I like this forum because the guys on here are my kinda people but I just can't let this polarised intolerance and misinformed anti-TC propaganda pass....yup, I'm old bald and grumpy but at least I don't dismiss things out of hand...I might dismiss them once I have experienced them but at least it's an informed judgement.
Speaking for myself, I do poke at Twinkies because it's all tounge-in-cheek and fun. (nudge nudge, wink wink). You, my Kiwi friend are a good sport and I think you know the difference between TC hate and a good poke. You oughta hear how vets from different services slam each other. It's a tough room.
Ain't that the truth!!
When is that from???
It looks like a sign they would have use in WWII.
I say to you what I say to everybody who says this....ride one before making such statements, I have built and ridden some TC's that are totally badass, my TC is not far from stock and the main difference between it and my 1998 Wide Glide is that it's faster and louder
It has not lost any of the unique Harley qualities.
Remember that new TC's are neutered by EPA regs, not H-D and once you do the things to a new TC that you will automatically do to an Evo you have a bike with just as much character with the one exception of that 1,000RPM idle speed (if it's EFI) but then who spends all their time idling? they are just as much fun to ride and in some cases (96inch TC's especially) run like a stroked Evo.

Some guys on here have owned TC's and still prefer an Evo...I can respect those guys but the overlap between Evo and TC is greater than many think, especially the carby ones.

Nah, If I go for a different platform it will be a Gen Shovel. With Harleys I want something that takes me to a simpler place and time. Kind of like a vintage Camaro v a 2015. One is fun and one is just something to go from point a to point b. If I want modern stuff like a TC, well, to me they are just pretty much just another modern cruiser. I like old tractors too. There is something nice about the rugged simplicity of older designs. Yeah, on my car...give me all the modern stuff. But there is not intrensic value in my car.
I'm glad I bought my TC. I still love my evo and it is in the parking lot right now, wanting for me to get done with work. I know some guys that had some issues with the TC's back when they first came out and it really turned me off to the TC. I got over it, and am glad I did. Now I have a great evo and a really nice TC. Nothing wrong with that! I'll admit that the technology on my new limited intimidates the hell out of me, but it's all progress right?

When it came to erecting modern health regimes, I always thought the Japanese Army Ministry's Bureau of Supplies had the most irony when it came to marketing their supplies. Condoms were labelled "Attack no.1" for the Army and "Iron Cap" for the Navy.
I'm sure Tony Starke would've like that. "I am Iron Man, I have ...".
Ha. My goodness, you're frisky this morning Beemerman.
No, he's still playing hard to get not answering emails and calls.
But, as you know, "an (Evo) mountie always gets his man" (Canada must be a long way from San Francisco. Who's been able to say that in public since the Village People?).

It looks like Evos will stand as the pinnacle of H-D Big Twin quality engineering for ever. Which is a little disappointing but a good foundation to build on. Funny how often V-Rods just don't even exist in such conversions even thought, arguably, they are better built.

V-Rods are a great powerplant in a really crappy motorcycle. Just one man's opinion. Every time I ride one with forwards I end up shaped like this....
