Looks like one of my spacers on the rear axle bore it's way into the swingarm pretty badly. HD wanted about 1400 to repairs and just had them put the new tire on and bolt it up so I can bring it home.
I think I have a few options here:
1. Find a direct bolt-on replacement.
2. Buy a 02-08 swingarm and get a retro kit like this: https://www.denniskirk.com/custom-cy...prd/583537.sku
3. Slap some washers on it and deal with it.
Has anyone had any luck finding option 1, buying option 2 or doing option 3?
Looks like your bike has the rectangular tube swingarm, with the open end? They are renown for giving trouble. I changed the one on my 1990 bike for the later more substantial successor from a 2007 bike, however that also requires other changes, thanks to the different rear brakes. If you can find a decent replacement that is simplest solution.
I also upgraded mine to a new style.. I've still got the original, in good condition if you decide to go that route.. Might even have a friend going to Dearborn in the next month or so.
