Vibration in the RPM's you are describing is a common dyna complaint...google "harley engine vibration" and read for days...seems the fix is always the front mount or exhaust mount. the Predator mount still has to be checked for clearance, and any aftermarket exhaust mount would be highly suspect.
I had a twincam Dyna which had a vibration patch, although it was a little higher up the rev range IIRC. I put it down to it being a TC88, but it may be a Dyna thing. I lowered the gearing, for performance reasons, which also shifted the vibration below the road speed range when it was most annoying.
See if he comes along.. If not, could someone PM him for me? I'd really like to see if he found the issue.
This is a link to my post on another forum. TBH it started one way as to why the engine had been mounted strange, but has now turned into a vibration post
Yes, its a 1989 FXR that's been re-built 2500 ago. It had 32K as a donner bike. The engine was renewed by a slight hone and new rings (that's all I know about). The bottom end was inspected and given a green light.
No idea if the bike did it before. I think this is why the bloke I bought it off sold it and removed the S&S so it was a non-runner
But He'd spent a fortune on it so had to be worth buying!!
Just wondering if he's knocked something out of balance somehow?.. that said I've had the front sprocket off so myself when I did the gearbox output shaft upgrade (key to splines) but I did it by locking the primary.. makes you wonder if he used a rattle gun or something??
