Is it possible to turn off the auto cancel feature of the turn signals? I do not have a dummy light for them and I have no idea if they are on or off unless I look at the turn signal itself. I know I can hold the button and release if I want them on longer but I would like to just manually shut them off since no dummy light
There should be a signal wire usually coming from the speedo head to the T signal flasher or module. Disconnect that one wire and that should eliminate the auto cancel.
That wire on my '90 bike is white/green. It even has a connector near the speedo head which has double insulated halves, so once disconnected it is safe to leave lying around! It's been disconnected since shortly after I bought my bike new.....
Pop the speedo up and snip it there or should I pull the side cover and look for the wire near the signal module? I'm not even sure that the canceller module is near the turn signal box under that cover.
There should be no need to 'snip' it! At least on my bike there is a black plastic connector near the speedo, which simply needs to be disconnected. Simples! Totally reversible.
Of course, now your turn signals will be "push on/push off", and you will have to remember to turn them off each time, or go down the road for miles with your signal blinking, like some old codger.

I know but the damn things were always off before I turned. I signal early with these northeastern tailgaters we have. It struck me the other day when my clutch let go my turn signal shut off and I had a car behind me that was playing the go don't go game deciding if they wanted to go around me. He didn't know what I was doing and I didn't really either. I missed my turn and was putting down the yellow line in 1st waiting for traffic to clear so I could make a left at the next street.
