I changed all of the fluids in my 1985 FLTC and was looking for the zerk fitting so I could grease the neck bearing and cannot for the life of me find a fitting. Does anyone know where they located this fitting? Thanks
Granted I have a '95 but mine didn't come with a zerk fitting.
It did have a hole in it so that I could install one though.
Does yours have a hole to put one in?

Many do not have the fitting or hole. The fix is to use a left hand twist drill bit (avoids shavings in the neck) then tap the hole. The zerks are available at Lowes or any auto parts store in straight or angled. Be sure to not pump the neck plumb full of grease or you will be cleaning it off of your front fender all summer long.
my 85 flhtc doesn't have one. the only time it's been greased is when it was assembled 30 years ago. i don't worry about it. if the bearings go out i'll replace them.

A left hand bit will get just as much metal in the neck as a right hand bit...period

On a bike that is stored out of the rain, the grease will last a really long time...bearings going out on the neck will give you lots of warning...not an over night thing...if the bearings go out, when you have it apart is the time to add a grease fitting.
