Please for give me with this stupid question. I bought this Softail back in June and idk much about carbureted bikes. Bike has been running fine till latly. When I start the bike with choke to warm it up it runs fine but once I start pushing the choke **** down the rpm's drop to 500 and the bike dies. Shouldn't it be around 1k at idie warmed up? My fuel injected EG runs at 1k once warmed up. When I first start it its about 1200 then comes down to 1k in seconds.
Is this the idie screw? I'm not sure what carb this is. Thank you for the help.
Thank you. I pulled the air cleaner cover off and it says s&s

FWIW it does take a while (a few miles) before the motor warms up and idles right.
On mine at least.
What are the specs on that bike?
I see you have an aftermarket motor do you know what it is?

The screw with the almost Phillips look is the air fuel mixture screw (the one I you can see well in the picture) if you look slightly to the left below that screw is the idle screw. After the bike is warmed up say after a couple mile ride turn the screw clockwise to increase the idle. An S&S carb is sensitive so it doesn't take much of a turn to increase the idle so just tweak it a bit at a time until you get around 900 RPM's. An EVO with an S&S is always going to take a mile or two to warm up and come up to the idle you set so be patient when you first fire it up.
