Certainly old chap! These are photos I took while doing the trial build: new and old bag; modified battery tray; new bags installed (with 6 gallon tank!).

I wouldn't be too bothered by the brackets, the fork trees haven't changed in decades, so any mounts for a 41mm fork should fit your bike. The changes of fitment are more likely to relate to things like the radio installation or other ancillaries that are out of sight than the actual mounting to the trees. I bought my shovel batwing secondhand and didn't like the way the mounts set it on my bike, so made my own set from scratch.

$20 worth of fiberglass would fix what you have. Why bother with redoing everything, unless that's what you want to do anyway.

It's not that I want to get ride of it but it's finding the rest of the parts I'm going to need to put it all back together. It's an older bike with an out of date fairing. The newer fairing gives me something to work with when it comes to hunting down parts a lot easier

I've decided to go a different road with my saddle bags. Decided to have a set of extensions made for it. Will post picks when I get them back and as mount them to the bags

I am using an ignition switch the same year as the fairing...the bracket I welded to the frame is so the fork lock from that year will work...I had to change the top tree to have a place to bolt the newer ignition switch.

Well here are the saddle bag extensions

They are 5 inches long. So plenty of room to install lights<br/>
