Years ago at Christmas I gave all the brothers in the club the chrome push button starter end caps for emergency solenoid issues. Most have swapped bikes since then, but the old evo still has it on her.

Those are a good investment, a month before I took the Tour Glide apart for a refurb, that was the only way I could start it.
I had one of those push button starter end caps on my 93 because I didn't trust the wiring to the switch. peace of mind for a back up.
If you're in neutral and lean over with the left hand on the starter button and push it in as you touch the push button on end of starter, it will usually suck it in and start cranking it. Just barely touch it and it's engaging. Even easier than pushing in the button.. LOL..

Thanks for the tip.
When I had mine on it was a PITA to push while sitting on the bike.
Just unscrew the solenoid end cap and replace it with one of these.
Even cheaper on eBay, but I'd question the quality of a $22 unit.
Normally I would agree, but there isn't enough to these to charge more than $20--25 for one. I paid under $15 for the ones I gave away and mine's been on there for over 5 years now..
