Those are a good investment, a month before I took the Tour Glide apart for a refurb, that was the only way I could start it.

If you're in neutral and lean over with the left hand on the starter button and push it in as you touch the push button on end of starter, it will usually suck it in and start cranking it. Just barely touch it and it's engaging. Even easier than pushing in the button.. LOL..

Thanks for the tip.
When I had mine on it was a PITA to push while sitting on the bike.

Wow, 57 bucks for a rebuild kit...

The same parts can be had for about 15 bucks at a starter shop.

Just unscrew the solenoid end cap and replace it with one of these.

Even cheaper on eBay, but I'd question the quality of a $22 unit.

Yea, I tried that, and they didn't exactly fit, lasted about 6 months
Standard Motor Products Solenoid Repair Kit MC-SRK2 $19.15 on Amazon.

It was a case of, the money saved was not worth the hassle

Normally I would agree, but there isn't enough to these to charge more than $20--25 for one. I paid under $15 for the ones I gave away and mine's been on there for over 5 years now..

Looks like they've gone up in 5 years.. LOL..
