Starter Issues
I've had my '87 Softail for about a year now. It broke down shortly after I first got it. I took it to a local indy for repairs and the shop said they replaced the starter and solenoid. Now I'm begining to wonder if they really did what they said they did. When I go to start it a lot of the time it the engine just barely turns over. There are times when I've just un-plugged the Battery Tender Jr and it still acts like the battery doesn't have enough juice to turn over the starter. The starter never whirrs and spins but rather starts with an uhhh, uhhhh, uhhhhh. that's when it starts, sometimes I need to be it back on the batter charger. I just replaced the battery thinking I had a new starter, but now I'm begining to wonder if the starter isn't the problem.
