^^^ Gotcha...The one on my FXR hasn't ever been off...34 Years and counting!!!

 

Mine had one broken stud when I got it. Had to tighten it every few weeks. Finally the other one broke and I rode home with the taillight hanging from the wires. My indy is the one who told me to drill them out and replace with bolts. He does that regularly.

 

Had a soft tail that kept losing the tail light. So I took a die nut and threaded it for 1/4 and I never had a problem after that
