Default Saddlebag Lids???

Will '95 and up lids fit on '94 and older bags? I'd like to add speakers to the lids on my '88 Ultra but don't want to cut holes in my lids to do it and I haven't been able to find any speaker lids that say they are for my year.

Thanks Chad

I put the wrong date's. I meant pre '93 and post '93. My mistake.

No, they won't fit. I have both types and the newer bags are quite a bit larger, all round. Of course the later bags can be retro-fitted, with a bit of effort!

Thanks!! I knew that I could retro fit the newer bags. That's a lot of extra money, mostly the bags and hardware, just to get speakers in the lids. I'll keep an eye out online and some of the local swap meets for some newer style bags. Might just look at putting lower fairings on and speaker pods in them.

If it's any consolation they are bigger, so can carry more stuff to offset any loss to the speakers! With no cut-away in the right bag for the battery they are an attractive upgrade. I reduced the cost by buying Police bags, which were much cheaper. I reckon mine had never been on a bike, so am v pleased.
