Default Need help asap! Please.

I have a 1995 Harley Fatboy. I started removing all the switches and wiring from my handlebars when I swapped bars. Now I am having problems.... I need to know what wires go to kill switch, and which wires go to the starter button.... can anyone help me with this? I think I have the starter button wired right, but I get no spark now. Help!

Why did you take everything apart without labeling everything!?!?

This really calls for a service manual. They have complete wiring diagrams. I don't know if their diagrams are accurate, but the ones in Haynes manuals are printed in color and much easier to read than the ones in the FSM.

On my 94 dyna, the start switch has one black wire that become black/red and goes to pin 86 on starter relay, there is also a white wire jumper going from the start switch to the stop switch.

The stop switch has that one white wire that jumps directly over to the start switch, and then another white wire that goes to ignition module white, then also a gray wire from the switch that goes to the ignition 15 amp breaker. Again, this is for a 94 dyna. YD

I did label everything.... but obviously I made an error somewhere. It is frustrating.

If its any help I could take pictures of the wiring diagrams from my 98 dyna manual, not sure if that would help or not. I'm sure this isn't it, but did you check for pinched wires shorting?

It can only be something with the on/off switch. Make sure the wires are still soldered to the switch itself. I had one break there not long ago. Just a matter of resoldering it.

Start switch: One black wire mounted toward the base of the switch
One white wire mounted toward the rocking part of the switch

Kill switch: The white wire from the start switch joins up with another white wire and both are mounted toward the rocking part of the switch
One grey wire mounted toward the base of the switch

That said why in hell did you take the wires off your switches???????
I have changed a lot of bars but I've never messed with the wires on the switches.

Thanks! I now know what I did wrong.... I will have it firing again tonight. I removed all of the switches from my handlebars. No buttons or switches left.... just clean sweet looking bars!

I really dig the looks of the bike but, are you sure those bars are in the same galaxy as what you have going on with the rest of the bike?

The handlebars match the sissy bar.
