Exactly what I was thinking. But I never took the carb apart. But the bike is new to me. Only a week old so I checked. Damn if he wasn't right. Looking forward to getting this thing running.

Received the vacuum piston today and installed. Still no start and loud backfire. Made sure no wiring was disconnected. Spark and fuel are both good as well as 120 psi compression.

Well darn. Relax. There are some smart guys here that will help you. Is it backfiring out of the exhaust or intake?

It was coming out of the carb but last time almost sounded like exhaust too.

That slider diaphragm needed to be replaced anyway, so it isn't like you wasted money on it.

Do you feel pretty confident that you didnt pinch the vacuum diaphragm when you installed it?

OK. Juts checking the basics. Those parts will fit a couple of different ways. I found out the hard way. Voes will not keep it from running. You have an extremely lean condition caused by the carb or a vacuum leak IF you are sure it is firing OK. You might have to remove the float bowl to see if the float or needle valve is stuck. Looking through the carb, can you see fuel squirting from the accelerator pump when you twist the throttle?
