Not saying that it will never happen, but it just hasn't happened to me yet. See attached pic of the placement of my breather filter. Similar spot as OP. In the 2 years I have owned this bike I have not had it puke on me. Unrelated to the gas sump issue I know. Speaking to oil leaking by the check ball. The PO did say he had it happen to him a couple times in the few years he owned it. But he also never rode the damn thing so it's not all the surprising.

I guess all my post wasn't read, fix sumping issue, and oil misting(if it even does mist) THEN route it properly, don't burn the oil, don't spray it under your seat, don't spray it at your back tire. Took care of my issue before the rebuild, cleaned it up then and still running clean now. Like brown said not worth arguing over, people will do whatever they think is right
