I can't seem to find a good way to install the thing.
The bolt angles backwards, and the tour pack angles screwdriver forwards.
I tried one of the knurled *****, and I can barely get my hands in there to tighten or loosen it.
So far I've probably lost 4 bolts and one knurled ****.
Having arthritis in fingers isn't helping either.
Has anyone else got a fix?
I can't be the only one with this problem.
Your Ultra has the same nut kit w/Retention washer as my 98 fatboy. After years up the thumb screw loosening up and wearing out the metal of the fender I went to a 5/16"x 1/2" bolt with a flat and star washer. Yea it's a pita to remove it if I need to get the seat off (I have to lay on the ground with a wrench on the underside of the fender and a ratchet on the top side, long arms help) if need to get in there but it never loosens up anymore..
The bolt angles back because your seat needs to be jammed forward. Try different length screwdrivers and lift the flap on the TP backrest. Don't be afraid to push the screwdriver into the pad to get it perpendicular to the fender. Stupid design, but it's not the only one.
I use a 1/4 -20(?) Allen head socket screw for my road King seat. I can use a ball end Allen key to get it out. Not sure if that will help in your application but might be something to look at.

Nope seat is as far forward as it can go.
Angles are still wrong.
If screwdriver is long enough to clear seat, it hits tourpack, and again, screws up the angle of driver.

This might work, or the 1/4 drive flex as mentioned, will give them a try.

Neither of those will help if you can't stand that screw up. The seat must go forward just a little bit. Also you might try starting it after lifting the tab above the fender some.
