Im sure many of you will remember my dilemma from 3 or more years ago.
I found serious rust in the Main Frame where the Swinging Arm mounts are located. The general advice on the Forum was to part the Ultra out and cut my losses. I eventually decided to restore the Ultra and sourced a Frame section from the good ol US. A near total sripdown was undertaken and after nearly 3 years everything was assembled by myself with a friend sorting the electrical side of things. Eventually I have decided on a "Bagger" look and to this end I removed the Tourpak, fitted a Solo seat and a chrome rear rack. Motor wise I fitted an Ev28 Cam,adjustable lifters and a few other odds and ends. I love the Cam and the extra oomph and generally feel that thats as much as I can achieve for the moment.
Weather here in Scotland UK (Brexit) is a bit unpredictable most of the time, even in summer, therefore I have left the front of the bike with its weatherproof bits. I hope it meets with your approval. Bungo

Yeah, you are right. Ive spent so much on this ride that it is friggin dark most of the time. Dont know what time it is in Texas but I figured that..as it was 23.30 here in Scotland it would be 09.00 am in Texas. How stupid is that.? I used to travel back and forth from Scotland to Dallas,Ft Worth on business trips so I should have known the time difference. Im gettin to "that age" now and thinkin straight aint easy.!

I'm with ya Bill!
The bike looks great. Never cared for tourpaks. IMO they are visually hideous. I rode many miles with a minimum of stuff, and still pack light. Besides that, high and behind the rear axle is not a good place for extra weight on a bike.
Go ahead and remove those lower fairings too. Your legs won't melt!
Bike looks good Bill but I gotta ask why is your right front caliper red and your left front caliper chrome??
He's a Scot. Likely needs different colours so that he knows what side to get on and off. We used to have white doors on police cars for the Highway Patrol guys for the same reason.

Might do that next year Beemervet. Also agree with all your other comments.

I have absolutely no idea why the calipers colors are different.
Been like that since I bought bike nearly 6 years ago and I just havent got around to fixin/painting them. They are "Performance" Calipers as you probably know but Im not sure what original colors would have been.
Metallic Red probably. Wont leave them with alloy finish as I cant be bothered polishing.
Any Ideas.?
