I have a 94 FLHTP which is really a FLHS, I love it. Python EV560V cam, HD valves and springs, valve job, Rush 2 into 1, dyna 2k ignition, K&N, Mikuni HSR 42. Just did a fork seal replacement, much easier than I thought. YOU DO NOT NEED TO MESS With the spring cartridge. lol. it was a fun time. I have 75K miles and replaced the lifters a couple of times. I ride it like I stole it and it is one of the best bikes I have ever owned. I cannot ever see trading for a new one.

Here's my '91 FLHS. The PO put an '05 FLHTC outer fairing with some home made brackets. I like the look better than the windshield but it's all about taste and opinion. I haven't had the time or money to do much besides change the fluids and battery, but I have a parts list growing and hopefully I'll have some time in the next few weekends. I'm in Santa Monica so let me know if you ever want to meet up for a ride.

Looks good. Would be interested to see how those homemade brackets were designed.

One thing for certain, a FLHS looks hideous, IMO, without the windshield (or fairing) attached..

I love seeing all these 90s era different FLH variants and the different things people have done to them. Gives me a lot of inspiration for mine. I really like the look when the tour pack is removed and there is just a passenger seat rest on the back. Going to look into doing that on mine. thanks everybody, keep the pictures coming!

My '89 FLHS, original paint (except for the fairing!) and lots of shinny stuff. I was looking for a mat black FLH with the least possible chrome but fell in love with this one that my friend was selling, oh well!

IMO tourpaks are hideous. Yeah, I get the storage thing, but the big box ruins the lines of a motorcycle. When I look at a pic of a bike with one I position my thumb to obscure it.
Go ahead and remove it. I doubt you'll miss it.

love my 92 flhtcu, this is my 2nd yr owning it, came from a metric version of a road kind, loved the lean back riding. bought the flh for $3800 was a deal i couldn't pass up. i will say this the first yr i rode it i fought with myself every day to ride it, i literally hated it. it has a more perfect posture seating position, but on the plus side it handled way better then the road recliner, been through 3 seats until the current one a mustang wide one.

this yr the 2nd year i found that after the proper seat i love it, me and the wife have been on vacation for the last 10 day we did a trip to cape may which is a 4 hr ride 1 way, was nice to just get on the road a cruise, and we have riding over 100 every other day just enjoying the wind.. unfortunately i have to keep the tour pack on wife had 2 back surgeries last yr and can't take the pressure from the back rest on her lower back this yr

ive replace the lame 15# shocked with newer style air shock run them @ 50# for me and the wife. this winter im planing on doing a stage 2. paint is all original ..

So, I really hate how my bike looks with the windshield so I did a few things this past week to see how I could change things and make it look better. Here is what I did:

I'm not sure what it is called, but it is similar to a Nacelle, the housing around the headlight, I used some of that "Plasti-dip" removable spray on vinyl coating to see how I would like it if it was black not the off white, cream color that it was when I got it.

Then I decided that the windshield might be better if it was just shorter, so I took a bunch of measurements and went to town on it and ended up with this...

1991 flhs-img_8521.jpg.jpeg

I took 7 inches off the top! I put it on the bike and am going to test it out tomorrow on my way to work. I'm contemplating painting the entire windshield black with the same Plasti-dip stuff to see how I like how it looks.

It's hard to see in the pictures but I also rolled the bars forward. I'm tall, 6'2" and have long arms even for my height. My upper back and shoulders were getting sore from having my arms tucked by my side while riding. I rolled the bars forward and it moved the bars about 3 inches forward and about an inch higher. My arms are much straighter while riding and it is considerably more comfortable but I am not reaching for the bars. I wanted to try this trick before buying new bars because they are not cheap! This put my mirrors in a poor position, they were looking right into my shoulders. So, I took them off and put them on the bottom of the bar controls which I also rotated on the bars to be in a better position for their new bar-rolled-forward position.
