Recently bought the 92 FLSTC. Womans' husband had passed away a little over a year ago and all she knew was that it was a Harley and that she loved the color. Took the bike home and changed all the fluids, put in new plugs, cleaned air filter. Dumped old fuel and replaced with new and added Seafoam. Bike appears to be all stock with 37,000 on the odo. Took the bike out on the highway. Seems okay at 60 mph, works hard at 70 mph and really strains to hit 80 mph. Bike does not seem to have a sweet spot where vibration smooths out. Was hoping to get some input from members who own early 90,s EVO's. Is this as good as it gets or do I have a mechanical issue ?
Does the bike seem loud? Check that someone didn't bust out the baffles.
A mild build would bring it to life. If you want I can post my part numbers etc.
I used to think I needed a sixth gear for over drive but once I opened up the engine a little, everything was much much better and I am no longer looking for that sixth gear.
