Any complaints from techs about cleaning that stuff out of the tire and rim for a tire change?

I get ATV tires from time to time that have SLIME in them. what a pain in the butt to clean up....

Well I am the Tech that changes my tires but no....It's not like slime. It's more like a gel and it stays in the tire casing and not on the rim.

It's been a few years now but there was a fella that tried the Ride on.

He was getting ready for a trip loading the bike, on final trip to the bike something shiny caught his eye. It was a piece of heavy gauge sheet metal buried in his rear tire and the tire being positioned just right for him to notice it. He ck'd the pressure in the tire which was OK The Ride on had done it's job.

I don't remember if he rode the bike to change the tire or not. When the tire was changed he was told that the triangle piece of metal looked to have been in the tire for awhile. The edge he saw was about 3 in long but the point of it had only mad a gash about an inch long inside the tire.

Ride on is great BUT for him to take off and run 70-80 mph on the hwy??
I have often wondered if that piece of metal slung out of the tire what the results might be.

I got in a better habit of cking my tires a bit more often. If I'm gonna hit the hwy for a time I'll jack the bike up and roll the tires to ck them Real Good

Never really thought of it from that perspective. I guess its a catch 22 though cause what would have happened had he ran over that at 70-80 with no ride on in there? Riding buddy of mine gashed one like that on the interstate and it was all he could do to get stopped before he wiped out. Told me he didn't know how in the world he held on to it. Said the bike started the awfullest wobble that you could imagine. Showed him the ride on video and he said he would never ride without that stuff again......Very good idea tho look at the tires more often though.

Use beads or ride on, once you do you'll never mount a tire with balancing again.
