Geeeze, it even has the stock headpipes, and SE mufflers [look like] Needs absolutely Nothing But Ridden!!!!! You ain't Bought it Yet???? Edit: One more thing...then I'll let it go The VIN tells us what it is...a Doctored FXR will always be Just that...The Real deal, is the Only thing that is the Real Deal!!!
OP,
Concur with Racepres. That FXRT looks sweet for an '85, and if I were in the market, I would ****** that bike up ricky tick before someone else gets his grubby paws on it. I'd slap $6K cash in his hands sight unseen. Since this bike is his original baby, he may not "deal" as much as you'd like. Be prepared to pay full price.
The VIN is a super easy thing to check. Any FXRT is going to have "EC" for the 5th and 6th letter of the VIN...as in "1HD1EC" and so on. Anything else for the 5th and 6th letter, and it's not a factory FXRT.
I put the FXRT bags & Tour Pak on one of my FXLR's. I haven't got around to putting on the fairing yet & I may never do it as the detachable windshield blocks the wind just fine & doesn't buffet my helmet.
