Default 95 FLSTC motor mounts?

I recently bought this bike, my first Harley, and after 500 miles or so, it is beginning to vibrate so badly that parts are coming loose and about to fall off.

I have the shop manual and for some reason it doesn't talk at all about the solid mounts. How many and locations?

From 65mph on up it gets extremely worse but if you pull in the clutch and rev it at this speed you can feel that something is very loose.

I'm digging into this a little later but I'm a little confused with the three piece, motor/primary/transmission and how it is all bolted to the frame.

Any advice or links would be appreciated. Thank you, Shawn

Check the upper motor mount, which is under the tank between the heads on the left. You might be able to see it on the left side if you look up under the tank. Otherwise, there are no "motor mounts" per se on a solid mount bike. The motor and transmission bolt down into the frame in a "solid" fashion.

So look between the heads on the left side and everything else is underneath?

Yeah, that's it. I've never heard of a vibration problem traced to the motor or trans to frame bolts. Anything is possible, but that's gotta be rare. Upper motor mounts breaking on solid mount bikes is not that unusual. Also make sure the mount is not under strain. That is, it should fit snug to the frame, shim as needed.

It may help to see a break down of the parts involved, so check this on-line parts website.

Ok. The top mount was good and tight.
The bottom two in the front seemed a little loose.
Just got back so now it seems to just have the 65 mph and up vibration
That I guess is normal.

I don't know what bike you came off when you got on a Harley but all Softail models will vibrate a bit.

The reason for this is that the motor is bolted directly to the frame.

My suggestion is to go ride another EVO softail and see if the vibration is the same as what you are experiencing.

I have a street strip vmax that I built, a ZX14 and an R1. All will easily do 100 in 2nd.
The vibration thing is definitely new to me. Counter balance shafts in all the others keep vibrations down to nill.
I intend to put my Heritage back up on the lift tomorrow and use a mirror to look for the other mounting bolts that I haven't found yet.
Friday I had the shop that has been servicing this bike take it for a ride. They said it seems normal for what it is.
No need to put a vibe rider in it. Lol.

That is the biggest part of your problem.
You got used to those bikes and to you that was what all bikes should be like.
Perfectly understandable.
Unfortunately it is also perfectly wrong!!!!

You will get the most vibration on your bike at around 2.8-3k rpms.
On either side of that it will be pretty smooth.

Look at it this way.
All that vibration you are getting is telling you that everything is humming along just like it should be.
