Default Chrome lowers for my '98?

I cannot find any suppliers for chrome fork lowers for my '98 Electra Glide.

Any suggestions where I can get some other than having mine chromed?

The chrome ones will eventually flake. It may take awhile but it will happen they all do. I always recommend powdercoating

Maybe if you live on the ocean...like Florida...if you don't have salt air...they do just fine....15+ years on mine...look just like the day I got them out of the box

Would be a good time to upgrade to newer lowers and use the newer 4 piston calipers.

Okay....I'm listening. Is there a link to this conversion? Does it effect the bearings and wheel used.

I was going to go with the willyshiny exchange 10 spokes for my year bike, and was looking to do the lowers at the same time.

If it is a matter of a big (but worth it) additional expense, my lowers could wait for funding and I can put another polish on the lowers and just do the wheels for now.

Go ahead rockhouse and WP50...talk me in to it.

Yes it affects bearings and spacers.
The newer forks use sealed bearings which a friend of mine had go bad in 10k miles.
I've also heard about others having the same problem.
You will have to figure out the spacing for the sealed bearings.

Someone else here did the same thing and didn't notice much improvement.
Others have had different results so I don't really know if it's worth it or not.

Does your bike stop good now???
If yes then I wouldn't worry about it.
If no then I would suggest you try it.
