My stock horn works.....I know it does because I check it whenever I do my morning pre-trip.
I have never used the horn on any of my bikes in traffic though.....Not even once.
Wish I could say that. Have used a horn of some sort a good many times.
The traffic around here was way bad till the oilfeild slowed down a bit.
He walked back to his bike and beeped it. I asked to lay on it for a couple seconds. Dang I was impressed. This was about 15-20 feet away.
Seems its stock on 14 and up. Much lower tone than most bike horns I've heard. Not as loud as a Wolo or Mini Beast but still not the high pitched shrill I have contended with on air horns.
I have tried fitting a couple of freebie car horns under the cow bell, the one I got under the bell was touching the bell and sounded like poop. This one fits under the bell. For the money I'll give it a try

When I'm running in rush hour traffic I try to keep my thumb over or near the horn and use it whenever someone starts easing over on me. I've seen a few jump that were starting to drift and a few ease back that were crossing the lane lines.
It is also effective in getting the attention of folks that are texting or talking or reading the paper or putting on makeup and not paying attention to the road.
I like it.
