I have an 85 FXRS, just swapped out the tranny to a 92.Did the inner/outter primary and all the insides also. Not sure on one thing, where the staerter jack shaft comes threw on the inner primary there is the oil seal on the back side but on the inside looks like something should be there, from my searching all I could find is that there is a bushing there?? seems like there is room for a bearing?? but not sure any help.....Thanks!!

 

Do you have a picture of what you have now?
There is supposed to be a bushing.
