Here is a Red Out look as opposed to a Black Out look.

I think I am going to do the fork lowers, front/rear blinkers, heat shields and slip on tips in gloss black, everything else in red. At some point I am going to do the engine chrome in black too. While I have it apart I am going to paint the inner fairing gloss black. The red actually looks better out in the sunlight. I'll take some pictures as I progress.

Here are some pictures of some of the progress. I spent a day cleaning, scuffing and powder coating a set of heat shields and slip ons. I made sure I had all of the correct parts by holding them up close to the originals, but they are all about an inch longer and don't fit correctly. I am now re-doing the originals. I have them stuck on for looks in the pictures. The triple trees need some attention and I think I am going to paint them. If I take them off it will probably cost me several thousand dollars more that I don't have. The inner fairing is being painted gloss black. Everything is now on hold as I am going to Texas for the holidays. I will be ready to put it all back together when I return.

After a lengthy Christmas break I made it back home and finally finished. I wish I would have listened to the majority of you all and powder coated more of it black. The more parts I did in black the more I liked it. Next week I am going to PC all of the engine chrome to black. I am also thinking of doing the bag and lid guards black and front bumper guard black. Regardless of all the work, the bike is super clean and has been serviced from top to bottom. I'm amazed at how many loose bolts etc. that I found. I will definitely take more time now checking all of the hardware when I clean/service my bikes. Since I have still have over a month of winter left, I'm going to do the same to the EVO. I'll start a new thread for it in a couple of weeks.
