I've got the same bike and starting is a snap. Push the button, hot or cold, and it's running. No throttle blipping required. All my bike has is a Stage I upgrade. No cams or red injectors. You should be able to get the same easy starting with your bike. Get the factory manual and read everything you can about EVO FI. They aren't hard to work on.

And post up some pics of your scooter.

It must be me, as my 16's fit on my 94 and 98 with no problem at all with the stock heel/toe setup. LOL..

I have an extended heel shifter if you'd like it, as I didn't care for it and bought a stock one to take it's place. I also have a set of 12" bars in 1 1/4" I had on my 98 RKC, but went a tad taller to fit the 6"6" guy behind them if you'd be interested in them. Ran 'em about two weeks and went a bit taller. They're in great shape.

I have a 1996 EVO, EV27, and 10 to 1 pistons and I have EFI with the Screaming Eagle 1997/98 ECM, power commander 5, auto tuner, and data logger/display, and so far it has worked flawlessly

WesM, if your fast idle doesn't work, follow the link that was posted, it should have a stepper motor on the plenom that will move in and out with initial key on and set itself to the proper fast idle position.

If you have O2 sensors in the installed exhaust the PC5 auto tune would be a good package, the PC3 gets the job done but the auto tune has came in strong for the MM Efi, not many cheap ways to alter fuel and the PC5 will not need a dyno tune saving $350

Does your head hurt yet, if it doesn't a carb will outperform that EFI all day long

Thanks everyone for your replies. I will look them over better when I'm not on my phone but I have started with the adjustments mentioned in the video. I believe I'm pretty close on it now. Thanks again. And I may get with y'all on parts etc that you've mentioned. I'll post pics and keep you posted.

Good clean looking machine, thought it would be the anniversary colors but hard to beat a black Harley

What windshield is that?

Thank you. I've been trying to clean it up when I can. It was moderately clean when I picked it up a couple months ago with 22000 miles. It had the full size windshield when I got it but they had replaced the lexan with the blue gradient Memphis shades. I picked up the 11" wind deflector off the harley parts trading page on Facebook. I believe it's the same as the older CVO wind deflector. I want afraid of lots of wind buffeting but it's not bad at all.

Griz, I may take you up on the extended shifter if I miss it since I'm taking mine off. I looked at a newer rk and it's seemed quite a bit further apart. My shifter arms are 6.5" center to center. No idea if that is stock or not. I just keep the boots at an angle for the moment. Or did as I rode it to the shop today for the EV27 swap. Updates to come! As for the bars, I've sat on one with 14" and one with 16" wild ones. I was surprised how much more comfortable they both were. I was thinking of going 14" but I will touch base after I check it out again. Thanks again y'all. Still responding via cell so bear with me.
