Fork Oil
On the off chance you have Ricor Intiminators, then you need an extremely light oil. If I remember right, it is only 5W.
I have a set that will be going into mine soon, and I remember reading about that when I was researching them.
I just opened the box and they came with one quart of Amsoil Shock Therapy Light #5.

Reading all the cap plug removal info in this thread, its obvious not all forks are created equal. My Breakout was dead easy. Loosen upper pinch bolt, loosen cap plug 1/4 turn, loosen lower pinch bolt, remove fork. Thats after jacking up the bike and dealing with fenders etc. of course.
Then, I put the socket on the fork cap, draped an old towel over the top of the socket / cap / fork and secured the towel tightly as possible with cable ties around the fork, (this helps control the spring wt. against the cap as you remove it). Cut a small slit in the towel and insert your extension bar into the socket through the hole. You're ready to remove the cap without fanfare.
My manual calls for reinstalling the fork plug / cap with 60 ft/lps torque. I've taken that as a typo and only reinstalled the cap to fully seated plus 1/4 turn nip. IMHO 60 ft/lbs is too much on a thin walled fork and it does nothing whatsoever to seal anything. The circumferential "O" ring takes care of that with zero torque. The re-torqued pinch bolt ensures the cap plug remains secure.

Thanks for the input Mark but the cap has to come off completely to remove the fork... then you have to deal with removing the fork tube plug holding the spring in. I'm in the process of making my own socket rather than spending the cash on something that won't be used often or ever again. Seeing fluid changes can be done without removing them.
Well real busy at work and didn't get to finish making my plug socket, but here is a pic of an aluminum plate I cut and polished out to chrome, mounted to where the module used to be... what y'all think ?? There is a steel plate welded to the down tubes there and something needed to hide or dress up the area once I removed the ignition module. I made it about a month ago....

Got my socket made today and it worked perfectly, plugs came right off. Allen bolts in the slider bottom came loose easily. Pulled one assembly all apart and found some wear and tear, bushing on the end of the tube has wear to the point of color change (see pic) scoring also on the tube where that bushing was,nothing too serious. Also a pic of the socket made next to a mirror so back side can be seen also, 1/2" drive.

Question...any info on the two holes at the lower end of the fork tube, something is inside also with holes BUT they are not lined up perfectly. About half the hole off, and if I put my finger in the end I can feel something else in there with it, it moves easily, feels springy-like but it's not a coil. I do have the small spring out with the damper.
Also !!!!!everything that is shown in the sm has been removed and accounted for!!!
That is why I am curious about this and if the holes should line up perfectly.
