You might want to at least flush out (or rebuild) that 2005 RK caliper. Your 94 used DOT5 while the 05 RK used DOT4

I am planning on swapping my handlebar controls/MC out for a newer set of controls/MC. Is it best to stick with the DOT4 then? IIRC I thought the seals weren't meant for DOT5 in the newer calipers, but i could be wrong. I will also be putting a new SS brake line on.

What's a "newer set of controls" besides being 96-later style, different models changed to DOT4 in different years. unless you get a DOT4 master, it's the same issue, but the equipment has been reversed.

A whole new set w/ new master is the current plan. I have chrome bars w/ chrome controls on the bike now and new handlebars are black and wanted to match with black controls/levers.

OK gotcha.
Yeah, getting a new unused master should prevent any problems. Be aware of having the correct Fluid Spec listed on the Master cover...helps prevent issues with mixing fluids even if it's for the next owner

I needed a new rotor either way so figured it was worth a shot before I purchased a new rotor.

I have seen mixed reviews on them. Figured it was worth $9 to see if it works.

I had a pair of calipers off my 05 E glide I replaced with Brembo's. I got the adapter an put the left one on my 99 fatboy. I got the rebuild kit an rebuilt the caliper since it was used with dot 4 an my bike had dot 5. It had some discolored crusty gunk in it from the old fluid so I'd recommend you rebuild yours. the kit is only like $15 at the dealership.

you can see it, the yellow, in this pic...I think it was causing the piston to drag a little.

Aren't 2000 plus lower legs set up for 1 inch axles?
Your stock wheels are 3/4 inch axles.

I know the ones I used are 1 inch
I don't know when that changed though.

Not so with Softails...3/4" (in front) through 2006, then right to 25mm (2007). FWIW, Softails never had a 1".
