I finally decided to upgrade my single pod calipers. I am getting the Brembo adapter and a caliper from a 2005 Ducati Monster. I have some questions
will I still be able to use my my MC and brake lines? Will my brake line fit ?
Will my brake fluid work with the Brembo?
(I know it has to be throughly cleaned out to remove the of fluid)
Probably not on all accounts. Probably going to need a 9/16 master. If it is a newer Ducati some of them use dot 4 just like the newer Harley's that you will probably get a 9/16 master from. And I am guessing that they might use a different size brake fitting at the hose

So there is no upgrades without changing my master?
- Sportbike calipers + adaptors, etc.
- Late model MoCo calipers + new fork lowers, etc. This option opens up the possibility of running dual disks if you aren't currently.
- Bolt on aftermarket calipers.
I went with the latter option on my '90 FLHTC. Willwood calipers that bolted right on without further modification.
I chose the Wilwoods because I wanted something simple, easy and direct. I considered going the sportbike caliper route (had a pair of like-new units off a wrecked GSXR 1000 lined up), but didn't want the cluttered look of the adaptors.
I did a quick google search and I believe i found that the Monster should have a 13MM (0.5118 IN) Master Cylinder and a '96 should have a 9/16" (0.5625 IN) Master Cylinder already correct? Or is that still a 5/8?

To the best of my knowledge (which ain't great) all single disk bikes came with the 9/16" MC and all dual disk bikes came with the 5/8" MC.

Reason: Got it backwards
I am running this caliper and bracket combo on my Twin Cam with the stock 9/16" master cylinder with no issues. I am currently in the works of installing a very similar Brembo and bracket on my Evo. Like the Twin Cam I will be using the stock 5/8" master cylinder. Both bikes are using Magnum Shielding Sterling Chromite II brake lines and Motul RBF600 DOT 4 brake fluid. Below is a pic of the Twin Cam, I'll try to get one of the Evo soon...

yes I believe 9/16 which means they the MC will work with the monster caliper
But my Fatboy uses dot 5 fluid .. will that work with the Ducati Brembo s? Does the for grading have effect on piston movement?

i am hesitant to go this route because the brake pads they use are not readily available at local dealers. Where do you buy your pads from

i just ordered the Brembo bracket today. A question for you. Right now my name is using the dot 5 fluid to push the stock single piston caliper.. can I use the same dot 5 fluid to push the Brembo pistons?
