I do. I hit the brake pedal and the shifter shaft bushing.

I do, because my bike is a Softail, and has grease fittings, but not all do, and the OP didn't say what bike he has.

all great advise, the moco repair manual and a Clymer are NOT the same.but if you really desire to do it yourself a moco repair manual is the way to go. also I have found good success with you-tube. if you're needing to do it, chances are someone else has already done it and they recorded themselves!
