Also, in the HD world, most of us seem to become foodies.... traveling through Memphis, Dallas, KC and St Louis, bbq is a must... being from the south, I feel pretty comfortable with it, not a master by any means, but like good Q.... well, my consensus is in and I adamantly bow to the Texas bbq gods..... wow! Here's a couple of pics, they kinda tell the story...
So, the post didnt work out as intended, but you'll get the gist...
The 1st Pic was The Commissary in Memphis.. Good, though more refined than the typical pit bbq... I'll go back, but not before I try Rendezvous.
2nd is Big Nose Kate's in Tombstone.. Decent brisket, but lets face it the town is about the atmosphere not so much the food...
3-5 is Arthur Bryants in KC.. Very good, authentic Q! This was the original location in the hood. They have another by the track, but I had to go for the real deal..
The remaining pics are from Hard Eight in Coppell, Tx.... Wow, just outstanding!!! The "E-ticket Disney World" style line should be an indication.. There's a beer girl to help easy the wait too!! Order by the pound, get what you like and enjoy it.. Just DO NOT put any sauce on until you try it, I dont think it needs anything. The Brisket will melt in your mouth and is far and away the best I've ever had.. Some of the locals may have other preferences, but on my trip, this was a major highlight!!
Thats the food review for ya, hope it didnt ruin lunch!!
