Default Air fork question

I'm planning out my winter to do list and one of them involves the air fork on my 90 Ultra. Currently, it's very difficult to inflate/check air and it seems only one fork inflates or holds air.

My options are to either rebuild the system or order custom springs, new valves and delete the air system.

If you've ditched your air system for new springs and valves, please share your experience. Likes/dislikes. Thank you.

The two forks are plumbed together. How can only one hold air? With the forks bolted together by the axle, how could you even tell? And how can it be difficult to inflate or check? The Shrader valve is either on your handlebar or the engine guard.

Use the search function for this forum. There is a lot of good info to be had.
Just go over to RaceTech and order the springs etc for your bike. That's all you really need to know

Schrader valve is in the handlebar and I have a center stand on my bike and it will rest on either one leg or the other in my garage. Since the forks are plumbed together and the system is holding air, then my slab must be off.
