Check the connection where your slip on meets the pipe, if they are not overlapped and tightened down good with the clamp you can get enough air sucked in through that small opening causing this to happen.
your idle stop screw was pasted the point the idle mix screw was doing anything so by moving up one on the low speed one you now readjust the stop screw and the idle circuit is again in the mix

Thanks John, respect your wisdom and have learned by mistakes, haven't we all.
Ace, your timing in spot on by the heat line in the bend. Believe it or not you may still be on the edge, keep in mind "not a normal engine" run it and see what happens.
No I have not changed the jetting yet because I just adjusted the rich - lean till it calmed dn and quit popping. Then checked the plug color [ as pictured ] and all looks good for now. if the pop returns Ill go up one size lo jet.
Don't know if this made a difference but on my head breathers, I ran the hose between both breather with a tee in the middle then one hose to vent both heads.
I cant find the crankcase breather that is said to be by the oil pump, looked everywhere for it and think my new engine does not have one..?? I have a diagram a guy sent me but I don't see a crank breather anywhere. My oil pressure is 35 lbs cold and drops to 30 lbs running dn the road. Oil cap has popped off a few times under oil tank pressure.
Hello I recently purchased a 2004 road king classic and Ive noticed sometimes when decelerating it pops , is this normal ? I also noticed it sometimes shifts a little rough , mostly from 2nd to 1st but not all the time, is there something I can use to help smooth the shifting ? I use amsoil severe gear in tranny and mobile 20-50 in primary case , thank you
I mean when Im cruising and say maybe down shifting and using compression to slow down on a deceleration sometimes there will be a pop or two ? Not a backfire but maybe a tiny version of one ? Lol pop is the best way to explain it 😂🤣
