Looking more like a motor now. I'm going to admit to a dumbass move. (so no one else repeats it) I had the bright idea to spray some REM oil in the cylinders thru the spark plug hole after i checked the torque again this am. You know how those spray oil cans have the plastic straw so to speak. The frigging straw went right into the cylinder. Had to pull the head to get it out. Luckily i didnt have the rockers set yet.

You're not the first person to do that. People usually fish them out after an hour or two.

I tried and couldn't, the SE heads have a smaller plug hole.

A little more progress, exhaust is back on. What's the opinion on the SE exhaust gaskets vs. the tapered OEM ones? Anyone had any issues with them? (SE) they are a lot thinner. Should have it finished up tonight....
I also went back to using new OEM pushrods. So if anyone needs a good set of Primo Taper lites let me know. Cheap Ill never use them.

I've used both, in the end I think I prefer the meatier ones. What did you use for a head gasket?

Good choice. The SE heads raise the compression from 8.5 to 9.5 and that gasket gives you a little bump more. You will notice the difference.

Your pipes will tell you which gaskets you need to use.
If the end of the header pipes (where it goes into the head) is rounded then you need to use the taper gaskets.
If the end of the header pipes (where it goes into the head) is squared off then you need to use the flat gaskets.
