Default Head bolt Stud

Progressing to replace my head with a screamin eagle set. One of the studs came out instead of the bolt coming off. The case threads are not striped or any of the nonsense. Whats the opinions here on putting it back in? Loctite? Red or blue? or just put it back in as is? I am going to use new bolts as they all were pretty corroded on the inside thread area, hence why one stud came out. The others 7 studs are all nice and tight.

leave well enough alone with the other studs would be what we would do - and clean the stud that came out, red loc tite it back in and put the top end on = dont go looking for trouble doing anything else

I’d inspect the bolt and bolt hole, then I’d get the book out and follow directions for putting the stud in.

Red has done well for me in situations like this.

I have cleaned up the stud and reused them with no problem.

Thanks for the advice. Red it locktite it is. THe FSM didnt specify as it assumes you are using a new stud and they come pre gooped with it. I did but new head bolts today. The base gaskets on the cylinder sure are a bitch to get off. 1.5 hours in and i have only 1 cylinder half way done. you can also see the hole that has rust and corrosion in it where the stud came out with the head bolt. Im using plexiglass to scrap the gasket material off. sharpen tap a few time and repeat. NO damage to the base area what so ever using the plastic as a scraper .

Now you tell me! LOL No i did not. I got one barrel done. Honestly I doubt a plastic razor blade will touch it. Those gaskets are like iron.

Put some paint remover on that gasket and let the paint remover soften it up for awhile, or at least some heat...just be careful with the paint if your cylinder is painted. YD

Commercial kitchen product. Carbon off really nasty oven cleaner works like a charm. Should be at any restaurant supply store.
