I am looking at getting a sena set to use and was wondering how they work and sound with a modular helmet and a set of 3” rinehart pipes, will I be able to hear and can they hear me over the pipes?
I have an hjc IS Max 2 and sena 20s. Old lady has a 3/4 hic with her sena. I run supertrapp 2 to 1 exhaust with closed end cap so it's not real loud. Love this setup. No problems communicating with each other. Bluetooth to phone for music and gps. Like how it lowers volume on music when intercom or GPS is in use. Also lets us share music or listen to our own. Only complaint I have is the sound quality of the music is not up to my liking with the helmet speakers. This is not a brand issue though it's kust that I don't think that small of a speaker will do it. I use ear buds most of the time. As far the noise canceling mics go, people I call can't believe I am on my bike. They say it's crystal clear.
I use a modular FXRG helmet in colder weather and I have just bought a Sena 10S, whilst I have not had the chance to try it out on the bike yet the reason I chose this intercom model is that it has an earbud port option, not many do. The system was bought for an impending long haul trip across Europe. Should the standard speakers not be up to the job with my Vance and Hines Big Radius the option of using earbuds may improve things hopefully? Hot weather I use a half-helmet where the earbud option would of course always be in use.

Works just fine . Wife and I both have the S20 mounted on ours have for over a year.
For those that wish you can unplug the speakers and use ear buds as others have said it works for those with hearing issues.
