As nice as it is outside, and as SLOW as this cable is in getting to me, I might just put it back together in a bit and go ride, mileage be damned.

No, I usually do them in the parking lot of the dealership. I didn't consider it a picture-worthy event, but given the current crop of twinkie owners, it probably is.

Well, I did it. I snipped off a length of the old cable housing (no cable inside), screwed it into the speedo, then ran it down and cable-tied it to the highway bar just to secure it. Had no idea of my speed or miles but it was a sweet ride!
