New old Evo.
I posted here a 2 weeks ago about a 94 Convertible I was going to buy,....well I got her home last week.
Of course the 110km ride home it was pouring rain the whole way, a mixture of motorway 110-130kmh cruising and crappy 60kmh city traffic, I was happy when I hit my mountain roads for the last leg.
The bike rattled and shook and the front end felt real bad, as in rough and shakey, plus on decal the whole bike vibrated like hell.
I stopped on the freeway and found the front axle nut was finger tight, also adjust the clutch freeplay as the clutch wouldn't grab until the last 1/2inch of lever travel.
The P.O rode the bike but that was it, I found half the nuts/bolts etc on the bike were loose, I adjusted the stearing head and aligned the bike as per W.M and changed all fluids axcept fork as I didn't have any fork oil, all of this has improved the ride heaps, but I still have a grinding feeling coming through the bars and on long sweepers, and on decal.
So I am going to replace front/rear wheel bearings, stearing head bearings and front motor mount plus fork oil next weekend, that should help things.
Here's a few pix.

Yes, it's a nice looking bike, and I hope you get it sorted out. Loctite is our friend with these bikes. Consider it an opportunity to get to know your bike....YD
I should have mentioned that I will be doing both mounts. Not my 1st evo, I did go to the dark side for 2yrs but I had to get another evo..selling the Twinkie as it has no soul.
Been on Harley’s 1984, iron heads and evo’s...it’s good to be back.

And, I agree, there's something about the evo's that the twinkies don't have. YD
