What oil is to be used on a 1998 Dyna Super Glide Convertible FXDS?
Which oil???
There are 4 different oils used on that bike, Motor, tranny, primary and forks.
You will find that just about everyone has a different opinion on what to use.
Personally I use Valvoline VR1 20w-50 in the motor, Amsoil 75-140 in the tranny, Atf in the primary, and Amsoil hydroshock in the forks.
I agree with td. Except because your in canada it probably wont be texas hot up there, hence i would go 75w-90 in the trans. If your not a fan of auto trans fluid in the primary use a good 10w-40 made for bikes with wet clutches. Good luck and welcome.
Ive used HD 20w-50 in the engine for the last 216,000 miles. It seems to work okay. HD Formula + in the primary and Valvoline 85w-140 Gear oil in the transmission.

Use the same, with the exception I recently switched the trans oil to Royal Purple. It's a lot easier to read (old man/old eyes) the level on the dipstick since it's 'purple'.
