Yesterday I removed my Vance & Hines chimneys because I found a mint and complete set of original headers with heat shields and a set of slash cut S&S slips-ons attached to them. I maybe want to take the kick starter route, something the V&H would prevent. I'm also not very fond of the quality of the V&H's. Anyway, fitted it late in the evening so I wasn't able to fire it up (without getting my teeth thoroughly removed by my neighbors that is ). So this morning I took it for a spin and was pleasantly surprised by a very dark bark from the cans. It also seemed to have exchanged noise for work. I thought the bike pulled harder and more consistent in mid range, but butt dyno's can be deceiving. I really noticed something had changed when I entered a roundabout, twisted the throttle and got a sneeze in return, so back home I pulled the plugs one more time.

Clean as a whistle?! Without doing anything to the mixture (I still haven't received my 46), it went from overly rich on my 48, to a little lean, just by changing the exhaust. Opening up the pilot screw half a turn got that fixed by the way. I have been watching
yesterday. I realized these vids are mere adds with some educational icing, so I was a bit surprised I got the point proven a day later. I know the big shots I have arn't real drag pipes, but there isn't much you can call a baffle in them either.

So yeah, anyone interested in a 46 low? As good as new, it has never been used

It's amazing how those little things interact with each other and how a different set of pipes, or a different air cleaner etc. can cause you to start over on the whole tuning process. Sounds like your making headway and it sounds like you found some power! Win Win! YD
