Default Cracked backplate

I repositioned my coils yesterday. When I removed them from the original position, sunlight got to placed where it hardly was able to come and showed me a crack in the back plate, of the back plate of the fuse box, or whatever the thing is called. So onto this plate/bracket, the back plate is bolted that in turn is holding the coil and the fuse box cover.

On most of the rev range I heard a scraping'ish noise that I took for intake noise, but since the heavy coil is gone from its previous mounting point, this noise is also gone, so I think I fixed something. Googling about the issue returned me nothing though. So anybody who seen this before?

That's not structural right?
If not structural, just "stop drill it", put some JB in it and wipe it off, if I am seeing that correctly.
Disregard if that is actual integrity to the bike.

Oh no it not. Its just a back plate partially welded to the back bone of the frame. It's pretty easy to cut loose, grind the crack, weld it back together an eventually even strengthen it with an extra strip or something. This winter I want to take the whole thing apart and maybe powder coat the frame, and apart from that, I removed the culprit, so it won't go any further.

Its a from-the-factory construction, and I understand why it tore itself apart since the coil sits on the very end if this bracket and due to the vibrations of the engine it is all over the place. I would expect these cracks to happen more often though, but could not find anything about it online.

Like said if it has nothing to do with structural integrity stop drill and that would fix it.
Add bondo or JB weld for a beauty treatment.
No use in all that cutting and fabricating, but you do as you wish.'
Carry on.
