I am going to hazard a guess from what he explained that the ball end is welded on slightly off center.
When spinning it, they will look bent.
When rolled on a flat surface, not.
No matter -this will go out today.
When I put adjustable push rods in my motor, I discovered that they are not always brazed together perfectly straight. This can be a problem if you have a slightly "bent" push rod in the front exhaust position. This location has the most severe angle, and as the rod rotates (which it does), it can rock the push rod cover enough to make it leak intermittently. Drove me nuts trying to figure out why I had an occasional leak there. I ended up having to "cherry pick" the straightest rods out of two sets of SE push rods to get four straight rods.
Yea your right...
.I am in the middle of putting mine together
But even so pulling apart the boxes so sucks.
I have about .080 shaved off mine with a cam....tere is no going back to a standard PR.
But , but, but
I have not ever had a PR com lose.
Never .
Hell, they are moving pretty slow compared to a dragster engine....LOL
AT 3000 RPM they are just bobbing up and dwn 1500 times a minute..
I'll try and answer all the above questions I can: It is possible , likely even that the ball end of the pushrod was in fact welded on just slightly off, wont know until I pull the pushrod out for inspection. I do have a mid lift cam, .575, using Jims roller rockers which are supposed to increase the ratio slightly and according to Jim's, provide a better geometry. The cam is not very radical compared to some I see here but adjustable pushrods were recommended. I just had the rocker boxes off a couple months ago to install " Rocker Lockers " and yes, it's no big deal to drain the tank, remove the seat and dash and tank, remove the rocker covers then rocker assemblies, but why do it if not necessary? I'm just looking to make this easier.
