I have a 95 Road King with 217K miles. I lost the transmission while doing my 15th ocean to ocean ride. I found a rebuilt 1999 evo transmission. Will it work?
Naw, it was beyond repair. I thought if it was the clutch plate or bearing housing, I could handle it. It came completely apart when the housing cover was removed. Apparently, the previous service check/fluids change, the tech drained the oil and didnt put any back in.
Is the transmission case in good condition?
You could find a used gearset and be up and running pretty easily.
The later model year the better (remember it must be 5 speed model).
If the case can be salvaged, then you can put in a gearset, and those can be found on eBay. Good to know the tranny went over 200K and only broke due to human error.
What engine fixes did you have on that bike? Ever split the case?
