Quick question...
Hmmm...I always heard it was (from thinnest to thickest) - blonde, brunette, redhead. Funny how everyone has heard it different! I wonder if it's where one grew up, or age differences, or...?
I grew up out west and I'm 56 in February...wait, let me check that I may be off a year or two either way...I was wrong, I'll be 57 in February (I had to get the friggin' calculator out on the computer, lol). I'm one of those rare idiots who litereally doesn't think about age. Couldn't give a rats *** about it one way or another. Just don't care because it just doesn't bother me in any way whatsoever, so I end up forgetting how old I am once in a while and have to do the subtraction thing to figure it out, heh.
Oh, and anyway, yes, timed the bike statically and dynamically and it's right on the money both ways. I really do think it's just the rear isolator. The vibration isn't the kind that's shaking everything up so bad you think the whole bike is going to fall apart, but the super fast buzz of like, as I said earlier, a bee in a can (ever caught one or a bumble bee in a can, held a plastic lid over it but could feel the pissed off little **** buzzing like crazy against the side or bottom?)...that's the kind of vibration I'm talking about, almost exactly the same speed as a cranked up womans play toy, a chick sitting on the fender when I hit 80 and maintain it there *WILL* get off if she positions herself right, heh. It also could just be that I'm not used to that vibration because this '98 FXD rides a *lot* different than the '09 FXD I had, it handles a hell of a lot better that's for sure. Way back in '83 IIRR, I went in halves with a buddy on a 1972 ironhead sportster. It was a real rat bike, but it ran and that was all we cared about. I was always so stoned back then though (mostly weed, but I wouldn't turn down 'ludes, speed in pill form of any kind, 'shrooms and lots and lots of acid) I can barely remember riding it. I couldn't tell you what color it is even, I just know I had one and rode it for about a year I think, lol. I was hoping talking about it might trigger something about how *that* bike rode, but it didn't, other than it did remind me that I forgot to fill up one day and headed out toward Lake Meade (I lived in Las Vegas, NV) and ran out of gas...not the best thing to happen to a long-haired, greasy-jeaned, raggedy-looking guy on a bike, heh.
Anyway, I hope everyone had a good thanksgiving, is so full they had to be rolled to their favorite chair and had to unbutton the pants and undo the belt and wait for that first good fart an hour or more later to get a little relief from stuffing your face. I know I'm still waiting for mine to get here, I pigged out and even ate 5/6 of the can of cranberry sauce, lol.

Blond= thinnest
brown & red= middle
black= thickest
This is regarding c hair only and will vary, but on avg it always fits that catagory.
now days, you may see a landing strip. Unless you live in the hills of Pakistan

My older brother has always been there for me as well... That's family....
Had to go to the big city today for something, 40 miles (and 45 degrees, bleh). Couple of spots hte limit is 65, so hit 70 and 75 again...it didn't quite feel as bad as I'd described the other day.
Figured, on the way home I'd hit the interstate (75 mph limit) and say 'f it...I need to find out if the bike will do anything and blow up or not', so I hit the interstate and all I can say is that I just needed to get used to the new feel of the motor is all. 85 and still had passing power to spare for some of the trucks (and did). The 'vibration' was there, but I made myself 'listen' with my body better, and paid really close attention and found it's not doing anything bad at all. At 85 the bike sounds badass too, heh. I believe I could ride all day at 85 mph and not have to worry about the motor in any way. Part of it is, I depend a lot on all my senses when riding...especially though hearing and eyes (of course). I 'hear' the motor at that speed and it sounds like it turning so fast it'll explode, but if I lean back and to the right side a good bit, I hear the pipes and get a far better idea of what the motor is doing and going through (my raggedy old leather bags block the sounds of the pipes so that to hear them better I have to lean back and over some).
So I've come to the conclusion it's ike what splattttttt said a while back...I just need to get used to the newness of this and it's simply not what I'm used to yet or was expecting and it will just come in time I guess.
Sure gotta say though that I'm really tickled with the performance of this cam and carb. It pulls from a dead stop all the way through 75 and then srprised me with pulling still to pass a truck and get me to 85 in a flash. I also found I'm still getting damn good gas mileage with it - 116.4 miles today and filled it up with 2.6 gallons = 44.77 mpg. Yeah, I'm a happy camper, lol.
